Caring for your Tattoo
No Tattoo is finished until the healing is complete.
Your tattoo may take up to a month to be completely healed.
Wash your hands before you care for your tattoo.
Everytime.
During the first two weeks you may expierence soreness, discomfort, swelling, irritation, itching, or redness, this is normal.
Wash your tattoo 1-2 times a day using your hand only. Use a non-fragrance, non-artifically colored, soap like IVORY. The fancier the soap during this phase the more harmful the chemicals are to the healing. Hand rinse with cold water after washing. "Gently" pat your tattoo dry with a clean/soft towel. Once dry apply A/D ointment. Your goal is to get the ointment massaged "into" the skin and not "cover" your piece. If done correctly the tattoo should have a shine to it but no loose ointment. This step is critical. Do Not use anything with Petroleum or Vaseline. This will suffocate your tattoo and cause harm. Avoid fancy creams, lotions, or ointments right now. Your body will naturally heal your tattoo.
The goal of your oinment is to prevent infection.
During the third and forth week your goal is to help the skin heal and regain its moisture. Using a CUREL ULTRA HEALING, non-fragrance, non-artifically-colored lotion is recomended.
Continue the first phase longer if needed.
Throughout your tattoos healing your piece will weep. Gently dab as needed with a soft cool towel. This is natural and expected.
Do not scratch or rub your piece, gently pat if unbearable.
Call or stop with questions.
Note:
Every body heals differently.
The care instructions listed above are recommendations.
